Suvorovo is a city in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Varna Province. It is the administrative center of the homonymous municipality Suvorovo, in the northwestern part of the province. The city is located in the southwestern part of the Dobruja plateau. Suvorovo, named after Generalissimus Alexander Surov, one of the most famous military commanders. The city has a historical museum, community center, an Eastern Orthodox Church dedicated to the Ascension of Jesus and a mosque. The third largest mosque in northeastern Bulgaria, built in the second half of the 16th Century as part by the Turkish architect Sinan is located in the center of the Suvorovo town. The excavations of an old Roman fortress are being done near the city. A park and a fountain are built on the spot where the Russian soldiers died in the same region during the Russo-Turkish war in 1777.
